Supervisor- Accounts Payable

Responsibilities

The Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the domestic and foreign processing groups for the US and Canada. Monitor work flow and ensure that each of the work stations is organized and that work is being processed timely and accurately. Ensures excellent customer service is provided. Act as back-up for alternate AP Supervisor and AP Manager as needed.

S/he will optimize the contribution of the team through coaching, counseling and the implementation of workable solutions for business issues/problems with minimum referral to management, ensure that team members acquire the necessary skills and comprehension to align with their business and personal development needs.

Evaluate staff performance levels and identify ways to enhance their work product and execution of their responsibilities. Carry out the annual PMP process for group members.

This position will Manages effective internal/external client relationships within accounts payable responsibility and builds client relationships outside of the accounts payable area. Lead special projects. Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in the development of standards and the implementation of these improvements. The Supervisor Participate in activities/projects as needed relating to Accounts Payable; such as, month end close and items related to this process, record retention and compliance, including SOX, complete year-end tax reporting requirements for vendor payments and provide information as need to other departments (GA, Tax, Auditors Internal/External etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years of accounts payable experience
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal/written communication
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be a self-starter, analytical thinker and able to motivate others
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous JDEdwards 9. 1 experience
  • Previous P2P experience


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
